TOKYO — The Japanese capital is undergoing a resurgence. In a surprise Direct today, Nintendo announced that they will be adding even more features to Animal Crossing: New Horizon, including gore-filled Fatalities, in addition to the existing features. According to Nintendo, the update introduces a new option when interacting with Isabelle, a fan-favorite NPC who can be found in the town hall of your island. She will offer you the opportunity to learn devastating and lethal attacks from her time spent away from your island while you are there.

"Because of my friendship with The Doomslayer, I've had the opportunity to meet other video game characters, such as the Mortal Kombat gang,"

Isabelle proudly explains in the announcement video."They all looked like they were having a good time pulling off these moves and using each other's body parts, so I wanted to share what I'd learned with all of my friends back on Youberg!" says the author.

In fact, many of the Fatalities available to learn are taken directly from the MK franchise, including Scorpion's removal of the skull and spinal column and Kano's heart-ripper from the original game. A new set of moves is also available to your villager as a result of some tools that are at his disposal.

In order to successfully perform a Fatality on islanders, Isabelle advises having all of your tools ready. With an axe, you can easily remove your victim's legs before slicing their entire body in half, for example."Even better things can happen when you use a golden tool, so don't be afraid to try something new!"

When we went to press, Nintendo had revealed that 91% of ACNH players had immediately gone to Tom Nook and ripped off his head after mastering this new moveset. Animal Crossing: New Horizons will soon receive Animal Crossing Bells, but what you might not have known is that the Happy Home Paradise expansion for the game - which will be released on the same day (5th November) as the free update - will be the game's first and only paid digital content.

This was further explained by Nintendo in the following statement to IGN:
New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise introduces a new gameplay experience in which the player becomes a member of the Paradise Planning team and assists them in bringing their client's dream resort home to fruition.

There has been a significant update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and the game now offers a distinct and different gameplay experience. Thus, it made sense to include it as the first and only paid DLC pack for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which was released in September.

Despite the fact that paid DLC will no longer be available, there will most likely be some minor patches released in the future (following the release of the final major patch) to at the very least resolve bugs and fix any issues that may have occurred.

Also worth mentioning is that the DLC will also be available to NSO 'Expansion Pack' members. What are your own thoughts on Nintendo discontinuing paid DLC support for Animal Crossing: New Horizons so soon after the game launched? Please leave a comment in the section below.
